| Hyundai Park to hot things up at the Italian Club, Bedfordview for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ |
Hyundai South Africa are showing football fans what bringing the ‘gees’ is all about by providing the public with Hyundai Parks in three prime locations across the country. Johannesburg’s public and visitors to the city can enjoy all the action as it unfolds at the vibrant Italian Club in Bedfordview which will screen all matches live for the duration of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. “At previous tournaments around the world the Hyundai Parks have been the next best thing to watching the game at the stadium. We want South Africans and all visitors to the country to have the same experience,” says Alan Ross, CEO of Hyundai South Africa. The Hyundai Park at the Italian Club is situated east of Johannesburg in Bedfordview and giant 40m², open-air screens, fun activities and entertainment will create a not-to-be-missed atmosphere. There will also be a number of exciting activities set to enhance the fans’ experience. Fans will get to see some of the Hyundai Goodwill Balls that have travelled the world collecting signed messages of good luck from all participating countries in the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and there will be live webcam feeds from all other 33 Hyundai Parks located around the world. The ‘Hyundai Fan Van’ will give fans the last minute opportunity to win tickets to a match taking place in their city that same day, with winners whisked to the stadium there and then to watch the match live. Adding to the gees will be the Fan of The Match competition running for the duration of the tournament. The most creative fan who really brings the gees to each Hyundai Park will have their picture uploaded onto the Hyundai SA Facebook page and fifa.com and will qualify for the Fan of the Tournament and could win the grand prize of an i10. Food and drinks will be on sale at the Hyundai Parks and DJs will ensure that the party continues throughout the day. The Hyundai Park at the Italian Club, Bedfordview, is just one of three sponsored Hyundai Parks. The public can also enjoy Hyundai Parks in Durban and Cape Towm, located at Suncoast Casino Entertainment World and the V&A Waterfront respectively. Hyundai have a number of initiatives set to enhance fans world cup experience including Hyundai’s world record breaking vuvuzela, located on Cape Town’s infamous unfinished highway. The giant vuvuzela will sound its horn at the start of each match, adding a unique South African flavour to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.
